Bisalpur Dam

Bisalpur Dam Bisalpur Dam(बीसलपुर  डैम )   is a  gravity dam  on the  Banas River  near  Deoli in  Tonk district , Rajasthan , India. The dam was completed in 1999 for the purpose of irrigation and water supply.     History :- The Bisalpur dam was constructed in the 1990s by the  Rajasthan  state government. During the construction, the people displaced by the dam protested against the state government's rehabilitation and resettlement policy, calling it unjust. In October 1999, the  Ashok Gehlot-led Congress  government sanctioned a project to bring the Bisalpur reservoir water to the state capital  Jaipur . However, the project could not be implemented because of financial constraints. In 2004, the  Vasundhara Raje-led  BJP   government started the construction of a pipeline to bring Bisalpur water to Jaipur. Jaipur Jaipur  (जयपुर ) is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India.                                                                    Newai Newai  :-  Niwai ( निवाई ) is a city,  municipality  and  tehsil  in  Tonk district  in the  Indian   state  of  Rajasthan . The Tonk district is bounded in the north by  Jaipur district , in the east by  Sawai Madhopur district , in the southeast by  Kota district , in the south by  Bundi district , in the southwest by  Bhilwara district , and in the west by  Ajmer district .  Jaipur , capital of  Rajasthan  is the closest major city to Newai. How to reach:- Air: The nearest airport is  Jaipur International Airport  (JAI) (55 km). Rail: "Banasthali Niwai (BNLW)" which is the most connected railway station in the district is located in town. Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur and Kota are other major railway stations to access the town indirectly.
